OUR HISTORY
The present company was founded after the end of the war on 01.08.1945 by Mr. Theodor Graßhoff and Mr. Gustav Czerwinski in Fritzlar.
At that time, turning operations and repairs of all kinds were already being carried out.
In 1947, the company was relocated to Wabern and the first electric motors for industry and agriculture were produced in our own design. Even then, our customer base extended as far as Holland and Norway.
In the 1950s, the company specialised in the manufacture and distribution of
and distribution of geared motors for domestic butcher's grinders. Among other things, the company built the first electrically operated series meat grinder.
When Dipl. Ing. Dieter Graßhoff joined the company in 1963, our product range was continuously expanded and modernised, so that our machines are still a household name worldwide.
Even at that time, our services ranged from repairs of all kinds to turning, milling, grinding and welding work as well as special constructions for mechanical engineering.
After the death of Dipl. Ing. Dieter Graßhoff in 1989, Mr. Wanner, who had previously worked in the company as plant manager, continued the company as managing director from 1993.
On 01.08.2003 the brothers Berthold and Kai Scheuer took over the company Edertal Elektromotoren as managing owners.
Mr. Berthold Scheuer is a trained mechanical engineer, has already completed his apprenticeship with the company and has been responsible for production as managing director since taking over the company.
Mr. Kai Scheuer joined Edertal Elektromotoren at the time of the takeover and, as a trained banker and graduate economist, has been managing the company's administration since then, also as managing director with equal rights.
In 2015, another managing director joined the company in the person of Mr Tobias Kleemann, a technician specialising in production engineering who is responsible for parts production and thus ideally complements Mr Berthold Scheuer.
Furthermore, with Mr. Kleemann, additional offers in the areas of contract manufacturing (turned and milled parts), as well as fixture construction, mould and tool making could be developed.
Since the takeover of the company in 2003, the turnover and the number of employees have almost doubled.
